I was told that if I remove the stock CD player/radio and replace it with an aftermaket unit I would have to have sometype of special wiring to keep it from interferring with other functions of the car. Sercuity etc. Any thoughts

Yes, the factory radio is tied into security system. The radio will not work if not taken out properly, power would be cut to radio.

Thanks for the reply. Can you recommend a procedure to correctly remove and install a new unit and what is needed?
