2003 Impala. High beams turn on by themselves and will not turn off. High beam light indicator first flickers, then stays on. Wiper Switch will not turn them off. Also "High Beams Out" message shows up. Mechanic said it was a relay issue (Said relay was burning hot when he checked) and replaced relay. Worked yesterday, however today same issue. Lights drain battery until it dies.

At this point tried simply removing the high beam bulbs from the light assembly. However wondering if this will cause issues with the relay still overheating possibly.

will fix nothing.

check the headlight switch as it may be internally shorted.
