My window is stuck down, so I read that a motor replacement could fix it. I bought the replacement and tested it on the cables and it would only turn one way. So I figured it was a connection problem, sure enough I tested the voltage when I pushed down I got plenty of voltage abut up I got zero, so I assumed it was the switch but my replacement did nothing for it

if the switch is bad it wont' send power to the motor. you need to see if the switch works.

I replaced the switch with a brand new one and still nothing happened

ok now you are going to have to check for a broken wire. usually between the door and post from opening and closing. a multimeter or test light can do it. just find what color the wire is and go from there. then fix it.

That's what I figured, but the shop I was going to take my car to was insisting it was the regulator (prolly because it brings them more money) even after I explicitly told them the brand new motor would only roll one way
