I have a 2003 cavalier manual trans. My clutch recently seemed softer then normal. One night I had a hard time changing gears. When I got I noticed my clutch fluid reservoir was empty. How would I go about finding the leak in the clutch system?

There's air in it-Try bleeding the clutch and see what happens

So I understand how the air could effect it, but what could explain the empty clutch fluid reservoir?

Well check that 1st and if its not leaking -bleed it

If the reservoir is empty you have a leak, either at the master or the slave cylinder, these will have to be checked and repaired as required, then you will have to do a re bleed, if you just top up and bleed it out, you will be back at square 1 again as the fluid is lost from the original leak.
