Message for service

2003 CADILLAC ESCALADE ESV
146,000 MILES • 4WD • AUTOMATIC

I have a 2003 Cadillac Escalade ESV.
I have been getting a message on the dash display which says - "Service Stability System"
What is wrong and is this something I need to have the Dealership perform the service or can I have my local garage handle it?

this may be a programming problem. until 2004 models this happened mostly in cold weather. there is a reprogramming that may need to be done to a module. However there could be something else worong. unfortunately you'll have ot go to a dealerr for the reprogramming.
