Message for service

I have a 2003 Cadillac Escalade ESV.
I have been getting a message on the dash display which says - "Service Stability System"
What is wrong and is this something I need to have the Dealership perform the service or can I have my local garage handle it?

This may be a programming problem. Until 2004 models this happened mostly in cold weather. There is a reprogramming that may need to be done to a module. However there could be something else worong. Unfortunately you'll have ot go to a dealerr for the reprogramming.
