I was driving as normal at approximately 55 mph when all of a sudden I lost power. A message came up that said my stabilitrac system was disabled and I was on reduced engine ower. I managed to get home but I am not sure what caused it or what I need to do.

thank you

Hello,

This error message typically comes on for either a faulty Stabilitrak module or throttle position sensor.

Typically it is the throttle position senor faults out and it is unable to provide correct data to the ECM. When this happens, as a safety measure the power gets reduced and you will get the reduced power message.
The throttle position sensor is located on the side of the throttle body (see diagram).
Majority of the time replacing the sensor should fix the issue.

Thank you.
