While driving my 2003 cadilac cts automatic transmision the gear shift light goes out the car acts as if its not in gear the it will kick back in gear and shift light comes back on what's wrong with my car

It sounds like the range sensor is bad, Have that checked. It tells the transmission what gear the vehicle is in.
