03 buick squealing

2003 BUICK RENDEZVOUS

03 buick rendezvous- after replacing the water pump, the serpentine belt and the belt tenioner it is still squealing even worse that when it first started. The noise is at start up and gets worse on acceleration.

If you spilled any coolant on the belt in the process, it will have to be replaced and all the pulleys cleaned.

Pulley were cleaned before the new belt was put on.

You could have a bad tensioner but I would more suspect it was routed incorrectly. https://www.2carpros.com/images/external/81916874.gif

Thanks i will check that. Have a friend who suggested it might be the harmonic balancer?

It's possible but that would have had to have been there prior to the water pump.
