I have a Buick Park Avenue Ultra. It has 100000 miles, but only 10000 miles on a new motor. I am having a problem with the oil pressure gauge sticking. It is stuck at 130 pounds and for some reason it will not go down to around 40-50 lbs. That is where it used to be. I would like to know if it is in the gauge or in the oil pump. Do you think you can help me figure this out?

Sounds more like the oil pressure relief valve is stuck closed-oil pump

At 130psi, you would either leak from the oil filter gasket or the filter would expand. Check that. If everything looks good, then I would suspect the oil sending unit.

As rasmataz said, there is a pressure relief valve built into the oil pump. If you find either of the problems I mentioned, then the pump will most likely need replaced.
