We have a 2003 Buick Lesabre Custom, 3800, 6 cylinder that looks like it just came off the show room floor. There isn't hardly a scratch in this vehicle but the motor has gone bad. What is it worth?

We do not do evaluations, but I would suggest that you look on car sales sites for average prices and allow for the fact that the engine will have to be replaced, unfortunately a car with a suspect engine is not worth a lot of money as prospective purchasers may not want the drama of having to fix it themselves.

The 3800 motor is one of the strong points of the LeSabre. Get a better diagnosis to see if it can be repaired. They are prone to intake manifold gasket failure that caused antifreeze to enter engine. Get it fixed by someone who has done the procedure before.

Good morning,

With a bad engine, the car value drops by over 60%.

With the year and miles, I would suspect it could be worth around $800.00 to $1,500.00 depending on her area.
