2003 Buick Century overheating

My car is overheating quickly, but no fluid leaking. The heater is blowing out cold air. There is gray smoke coming from where the thermostat is. i think it is just the thermostat, but i dont want to repair then drive and blow it up

If it is over heating and no hot air out the vent it would indicate you have no coolant. Add water when the engine is cold. If you have a pressure tester apply pressure to look for leak. If you do not run engine until it reaches normal temp and see if the leak will show up. Pay attention around the lower intake gasket for leaks. Very common problem on these vehicles but you should inspect all hoses, radiator, and water pump for leaks as well.

There are many reasons of car overheating, it can dangerous if you allow it to continue for long time. Its good to shut off your air conditioner and open your windows ASAP. If still the engine continue to overheat then turn on the heater and blower. I had the replace the thermostat to fix my car. Hope this information will help you.
