Odometer Correction Tool? Who has used it before?

Glad to be here. I just wondered if anyone has used odometer correction tool before? I want to buy a new car, so I wanted to sell the prior one. Odometer shows 500,000km. A friend told me that a could adjust the odometer. But I am just a little afraid.
Who has used it before?
Is this illegal in USA?

Yes its a federal crime to alter the odometer reading in the usa.I dont know if it is where you are but would suspect it probably is. ALso its a pretty messed up thing to do to roll the odometer back on a car then sell it to some poor sucker. Alot of cars you just cant alter the miles on the newer cars.
