Would the torque converter cause my car to vibrabte while driving? My car will make a vibrating sound like wind flowing underneath then it goes away when I accerlerate. My car dealership says it is the torque converter and very expensive to repair. Around 2300. I have an appointment with them to take it in on Saturday June 15 so I would appreciate a quick answer if possible.

Thank You.

Yes a faulty torque will vibrate car it is a heavy part and turns at engine speed. You do not mention any trans shifting problems are there? You may want a second diagnosis before shelling out $2300 bucks

I have not noticed any problems with shifting. I would love to get a second opinion but I have always used the dealership and I have no idea how to find a trustworthy mechanic.

Thank You

Torque converter failures are a very common problem with the MDX models. They cause a noticeable shudder at low speed and rpm's.
