When I turned off my car the past couple of time, had a loud rumbling noise like water running in pipes

Normally When I turn my 02 diesel passat 130bhp off, I get this noise that is always there its like water running in the system, which is normal....but last night when I went to turn the car off, the noise was extremely loud
