2002 Volkswagen Gti Take Positive Terminal Off Battery First Will Burn ECM Out

If i take the positive terminal off the battery FIRST; will it burn my ecm out when i put the positive back on because now it keeps burning the ecm fuse out. only took it off to charge battery. every thing was fine before that.

no, it should not.

disconnect the ecm and see if the fuse still blows

Check for broken / bare wires at the Ignition Coil Pack Harness Connectors.
