When I activate the front windscreen washer, the front wipers do not move and the washer jet doesn't spray, however when I do this the rear wiper goes but with no water spray.

The rear washer works fine and the front wipers work fine in normal use.

My local garage think it should just be the washer pump but I'm unsure as surely the rear wouldn't work if this was the case? Could it just be a fuse or relay?

Many Thanks

IF you are not getting washer front or rear, it could be the pump. However, it could be an electrical issue too. What I suggest is disconnect the pump and have a helper push the button for the washer to see if power is getting to the pump. If it is, the pump is bad. If there is no power to the pump, then you need to check things like fuses, wiring...

I am surprised the shop doesn't know to do that and wants to just replaced the pump without being sure. It is a really simple procedure that can save you the money for a pump if it isn't bad.
