how many hours to replace timing belt, 12 bent valves, water pump. 1.8 VW turbo

car towed and was told the above was needed. Charged for 27 hours of labor. I thought this was excessive.

For me way too excessive-get another estimate they are trying to rack you in, go somewhere else

I think they may have added individual labor estimates together...

1)Head gasket: 5.9hrs
2)Water pump: 3hrs
3)Timing belt: 2.7hrs
4)Head gasket & cylinder head overhaul: 9.9hrs
example...

When doing 1 should have included 2 & 3.
When doing 3 should have included 2.
When doing 4 should have included 1, 2 & 3.

"Slight" labor modifications are done when adding additional
work "while you are in-there" so to speak.

Seems to me that they were double dipping the labor guide.
