Oil pouring out engine

Not familiar with these vehicles but my daughters van suddenly started pouring oil onto the driveway. Crawled under it the best I can and tracing the oil back it is coming from the engine above the starter. I actually saw the oil pouring down from there. What is behind there that would cause this? It is not just a trickle it is gushing oil and there is none in it now, even though I just added more. Thanks!

Good morning.

Two items up there.

1. Oil filter. May be loose or the seal is leaking.

2. Oil pressure switch. Common failure.

Procedure

Removal Procedure:

1. Remove the battery negative cable from the battery.
2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
3. Remove the electrical connector from the engine oil pressure sensor.

4. Remove the engine oil pressure switch.

Installation Procedure

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
