2002 Vauxhall Astra Car Making Loud Droaning Noise Only Heard Inside Car

my car is making a loud droaning noise (only heard from inside car) when driving this is causing a slight vibration under foot. i have had a non-mechanic check under the car and there is no sign of a hole etc on exhaust. is there anything else i can check.
