do I have a bad fuse or wiring. What else can it be?

Brake light on drives side does not work while they do on the passengers side. tail lights go on when I lock or unlock the car

Have you checked to make sure the bulb isn't bad? If so and it is good, check the light socket itself to make sure it isn't damaged or worn and then trace for where the power loss is.
