I took my car in for a check for lights out on dash for air circulating, a/c, rear window defroster and clock. I was told to replace new would be $750. I was told I could check with a parts place for a lower price. I was told my car would not get the best gas milege until this was replaced and would not run as efficiently without this part.

The repair shop used the term block for the part to replace. I have not done any repair work.
