i just replaced the heater core on my 02 celica and after reinstalling everything the fuel gauge does not read and the door locks do not lock via the center console ive read around that this may be the the ecu but i suspect that i may have overlooked a unplugged wiring harness

Yes, I would suggest checking the wirings. The ECU is not related to the problems concerned.

Check ground circuits and wireharness connectors first.
