I have a 02 outback and the engine or belts squeal while idling and goes away after a little bit of driving. I have been using belt dressing/belt quieter but the squealing always returns, how may I address that issue?

I would replace the external belts first, ensure that they are tensioned correctly, if this is a serpentine type belt replace belt and if noise persists, replace the auto adjuster, these can loose tension over the years and can cause belts to squeal.
