- How do you determin the gear ratio of a differential

I want to change the differential, but it must have the same gear ratio as the other one.

There should be a tag on the differential itself.

Count ring gear teeth and pinion gear teeth divide = gear ratio... Or just call dealer with vin number and they can tell you what came stock.
