The other day the low coolant light came on in my car. I topped off the coolant reservoir shortly thereafter. It doesn't look like the level has dropped a bit since. Every once in a while I get a quick whiff of coolant when I first start the car. (5-6 seconds) It has been going on for a few months. Coolant was only about a qt low. A/C is ice cold, and heat is very hot. No film on windshield, or excessive fogging of the windows, and no antifreeze inside the car on the floor. There are no visible leaks under the car, and I cannot locate anything under the hood. What could be my problem and should I be worried?

Have the coolant system pressure tested this will find the smallest of leaks.

Ok I will definitely do that. Should I be worried that it's something major such as a head gasket with just this small of a leak? Also, how soon should I get it looked at? Can I hold off for like two weeks?

Don't know if major or minor suspect minorcan wait a bit but keep tabs on coolant. a small repair now could stop big repair if left unattended
