stalling

2002 saturn - engine light came on and shortly after - 2-3 mins car sputtered and stalled, had difficulty re starting and then it tried to stall on the mile ride home, got in driveway and car did not idle it just stalled - any ideas?

First thing you need to do is go to a auto parts store like auto zone and have them read your codes.Let me know the exact code numbers.That car has a lot of problems with coolant temp sensors and crankshaft position sensors.
