Recently when driving down the road my car will be running perfect and then unexpectedly my rpms start slowly dropping and giving it gas has no effect. Car shuts off when rpms hit zero. A couple of times I have been able shift down to a lower gear while still driving and it would come back on and run for less than a minute then die again. I have replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter. I have checked some of my relays under the hood but can't tell. Please help out of ideas!

So when it dies it won't restart for a while? When it won't restart see if it has spark? If. It doesn't I would suspect the crank shaft position sensor. That's the most common reason for those symptoms on that car. You can test it when it fails with a multi meter.

Yes, its almost like it has to cool down before it will start back up. Usually several hours later. I will try the crank shaft position sensor, it is a 16 dollar part for my car. But I can't find where it is located on my car. Can you point me in the right direction?
