car turns over but will not start. everything else inside the car works. getting the dtc code u1301 class 2 short to battery.

Thats for too high of voltage for too long on the data communications circuit i really doubt thats going to cause a no start.Since it says if you can read codes the problem isnt happening right now.DO you have spark?If not i would test your crank shaft position sensor with a multimeter.
