Fuel pump replacement?

So does your security light stay on solid or flash while your trying to start it?If so your ecm is disabling your injector pulse.Let me know.

check your fuel pressure it should be 40-55 psi. if it is your pump then replace your filter as well

security is off while starting. check pressure and had none. won't start at all now. pump still turns on

Also i coded it and P0341 showed up and replaced plugs and wires and voltmeter coils and they were good

A P0341 won't keep it from starting?So you checked with a fuel pressure gauge and you have no fuel pressure?So you can hear the fuel pump running or the fuel pump relay kick on and off?Let me know.

2001 Saturn SC2 - I filled up car with fuel; drove 3 miles and parked it for the night. Next day I drove 3 miles and turned it off for 1 hour, restarted car but it died 3 seconds later... It will run with starting fluid... I can not find the Fuel Pump Relay under the hood in the fuse panel area.. Where is it? If it is not the problem, then probably fuel pump, right?? Guess I will have to siphon full tank of gas (which I had problem getting gas out)??? Then drop tank because no access panel under rear seat or trunk, right???? Are there other checks you would recommend before dropping the fuel tank?????

BTW - While looking for access panel to fuel pump in trunk, I found a couple gallons of rain water from previous problem with sunroof drain line.. Wonder if there may have been a way for the rain to have shorted out the fuel relay or something else?????

The fuel pump relay is in the inside fuse box and they rarely fail so i doubt its the relay.See if the fuel pump fuse has power to it while cranking if it does the relay and fuse is good.Have you checked the actual fuel pressure?You have the injectors not pulsing or a fuel pump issue.Is the security light on solid or flashing when trying to start it?

You have to drop the gas tank pretty easy on that car you just have to get the rear of the car up high to clear the tank straps from hitting the ground.Whats wrong with the pump is it bleeding down on that car pretty common for that year.

My wife drove her car with no problems yesterday. Today it won't start. It's acting like it's not getting fuel, but I can hear the fuel pump coming on. any ideas?

So you have a crank no start?Without checking the pressure we dont know if you habe the correct fuel pressure to start and run.Lets try this hold the gas pedal all the way to the floor while trying to start it see if it starts.Sounds like it could be a bad coolant temp sensor and possibly corroded connector.

REMOVAL WARNING: * Do not allow smoking or the use of open flames in the area where work on the fuel system is taking place . * Anytime the fuel system is being worked on, disconnect the negative battery cable, except for those tests where battery voltage is required . 1. Remove fuel tank, refer to Fuel Tank / Service and Repair . 2. Remove fuel pump module, refer to Fuel Tank Unit / Service and Repair . 3. Remove the two sending unit electrical connections with needle nose pliers or by pressing down the locking tab and pulling connector off the terminal. 3. Using a 1/4 inch flat tip screwdriver, push in on the sender assembly attachment tang and lift up on the sender. NOTE: The fuel pump assembly is only serviced as a module without the sender unit. The filter can be cleaned with mineral spirits, however, it cannot be replaced. The fuel pump module to tank O-ring must always be replaced whenever the module is removed from the fuel tank. INSTALLATION 1. Position the sending unit tank in the locator slot and snap the unit into place. 2. Install the two electrical connectors. Pull back on connector without pressing tab to ensure connector is locked. 3. Install fuel pump module, refer to Fuel Tank Unit / Service and Repair . 4. Install fuel tank, refer to Fuel Tank / Service and Repair .
