'02 Saab 9-5; I'm hearing a knocking sound when I apply the gas. The oil light came on and I put a quart in after driving it a little. I then changed the oil but the knocking is still there. I'm worried, what is the problem?

You should be worried. Symptom indicates bad news. The oil light coming on indicates low oil pressure which could be due to low oil level or a fault in the lubriccating system.

The lack of lubrication has resulted in the connecting rod bearings being daamged and causing the knocking noise. DO NOt drive the engine and hope the damage is not too bad and can be rectified by replacing the bearings.

Keep your fingers crossed.
