Car is making clunking sound and smells like rotten eggs

Car was running well,no warning lights nothing.Went to drive it on friday,there was ajuddering,a clunking sound and a smell like rotten eggs.help

That sounds like the catalytic converter has rotted internally and collapsed in on itself. It needs to be replaced. Try tapping it with hand or rubber mallet to listen for loose material to check it for sure.
