Megane engine light

My renault megane will not go over 60mph without the engine management light coming on, and then loses power and only does about 30mph. If I turn the ignition off and on it resets it until I try and do 60 again. The model is a 2002 1.9dci mk1 megane. Any ideas. Thanks, Stewart

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis, finding out what's going on.
