The timing chain broke on my 2002 pontiac sunfire does it automatically mean that the rods are shot. Car was fine all day then coming home went dead fuel pump runs . When you turn it over it sounds really fast . Is there a chance rods are still good? Is it worth the time and money to fix

rods aren't shot but pistons probably are see pic
