first of all i just bought this yesterday.. seems good ..few clunks.. do you think i got a good car for 900$ with emissions.. having it safety now.
and what kinda maintenance do u recommend to get it healthy.

now my question. i have rust around the gas tank, is this easy enough or cheap enough to have fixed? either myself or mechanic?

rust is never cheap to fix and it depends on the severity of the rust. take it to a body shop and have them evaluate it and give you a bid.
i have seen bad straps that are about to break but the mounting areas are worse and we reccomend replacing the car as the repair would exced the cost of the vehicle.

get it checked out before you do anything
