The front end of my car starts making an excessive hum / rubbing sound at about 30mph and gets louder as speed increases turning into a vibration. when turning at higher speed, the noise stops until i straighten back out and it returns. Also, not sure if they are related, but my ABS and TRAC control lights have been on since i purchased the car.

we need the codes for the abs and yes, it may be related. have the hub bearings checked as it sounds like you need one or possibly both.
