2002 Pontiac Grand Doing Valve Job On 3 4 About Torquing Head Bolts

I am doing a valve job on a 3.4. The Question is about torquing the head bolts. Book says so many ft. lbs. then so much %. How do I figure out what the % is. Also I bought gaskets from ebay and they are not marked which side up. However one side does have a blue bead that is raised up on one side of the gasket. Does this side go up, or down?

i put the sealant down on the block

figure a clock is 360 degrees. every 15 minutes is 90 degrees. and so on.

make sure you have new head bolts.
