How do you check a headlight motor control module to see if it is bad

I have 1 headlight that wont come up and im getting power to both open and close wires at motor with switch on or off

You are supposed to have power there. The module controls the ground according to which way you want the motor to run. The body control module may monitor this function, not sure. A shop with a scan tool can verify this and manipulate the motor if the bcm has control.

What controls the headlight motors when they wont go up or down one works other one doesnt would obd 2 scanner pick up anything like that? I thought that one wire was for open and 1 was for close

The bcm changes the powers and grounds for the operation of the motor.

Obd 2 scanner will communicate with the bcm to monitor commands.

So bcm and headlight motor controller module are the same thing or module sends info to bcm?
