Headlight problem

I have a 2002 Pontiac Firebird 6cyl-3.8L VIN K.

When I open the door with the key fob, the headlights open, then close, but the motor continues to run for 6 or more 8 seconds. I just don't know where to start.

Does it also pulse the park lamps? There is a headlamp door control module, that has headlamp and park lamp switch inputs. It would be interesting to see if the symptom still occurs without the input. A characteristic of keyless entry operation is to pulse the park lamps, and this option is configurable in personalization settings. If it does flash the park lamps, check to see if you can turn it off in personalization settings, and see if the condition still occurs.
