2002 Pontiac Firebird exhaust smell in ac

I have a 2002 Firehawk with 100000 miles on it. When I use the AC there is a exhaust smell.Does this mean I have axhust leak somewhere in the engine? That is all need to know for now.thanks for your help.

Yes that would be the case or could be oil leaking onto engine and burning

Exhaust leaks make a ticking sound when the engine is reved or if you are lucky you'll heard the loud unmuffled sound as exhaust exits the leaking area.

I you can't get under the car, lay on the ground in a position where you can heard and see the exhaust. Have a partner to rev the engine with the a/c on (not too high -don't want to damage the engine ), you will then be able to hear the exhaust leak.
