c,ooling fan only comes on when ac is on new coolant sensor ,withengine running ac off ,no fan,unplug coolant sensor fan comes on plug back in fan shuts off

What is the engine temp reading? The fan won't come on till the engimne reaches a certain temp. Are there any over-heating issues, I'm not talking the temp gage.
