2002 OLDS BRAVADA TIRES WERE ROTATED. WHEN VEHICLE WAS OFF GROUND, KEY WAS TURNED ON TO CHECK MILEAGE. TECHNICIAN BUMPED STEERING WHEEL. FELT LIKE 4WD WAS ENGAGED AND WOULD NOT DISENGAGE. CAR HAD 94,300 MILES ON IT.
to restate:
When vehicle was in air, key was turned to on position to check mileage. Steering wheel was bumped by the technician. Customer came back a few days later and said something was wrong-like it was in 4wd and wouldn't disengage. Service technician said encoder motor had failed, causing shift fork in t-case to bend, locking the vehicle in 4wd all the time. Could bumping the steering wheel have caused this?
