That is odd. Check to make sure everything is tight and grounds are good.

Try cleaning the inside of the multi-function switch on the turn signal side

When you turn the signal on after it turns off the clicker continues to click till you turn again without turning the signal on. What causes this?

I have a 2001 Alero with a clicking noise from the hazard switch. The directionals and hazards work properly, but when they are not on I get a fast clicking noise from the hazard switch constantly. I replaced the switch, but the noise continues. Could it be a bad brand new switch? Bad directional signal switch?

Any thoughts.

It very well could be, there was a campain at the dealers to replace that switch. I know even they had a batch of bad ones. I would check into a different switch

Its not the Hazard switch, the hazard switch is just responding to the bad inputs from the multifunction switch.

Lizreed,

Thanks to your own re-post I also cleaned the contacts of the turn switch in the mulit-function swicth on my 2002 alero and the clicking sound went away!

Thanks!
