2002 Nissan Xterra Replacing Fuel Pump Removed Electrical Lines Pulled Access

I am replacing the fuel pump, I have removed fuel and electrical lines, pulled access cover up but can't pull fuel pump assemebly out, because large plastic aparatis which is pointing towards rear of fuel tank is in the way when trying to pull fuel pump assembly out. What do I do?
