Grinding sound

I have a 02 montero and there is a grinding sound on the front driver side wheel. But I don't hear it when I brake. I was wondering what it might be?

Have the wheel bearing check, jack up that wheel and there should be no rocking motion at all, check this and also give the wheel a spin and listen for any odd noise as well.
