2002 Mitsubishi Montero engine noise

When I start my car in the morning, I hear a constant clicking sound comming from the engine compartment. If I let it run for a minute or so then shut the car off and restart it the noise goes away. What is causing this noise I keep hearing. Please help!

spray water on fan blet if noise goes away replace belt AND TENSIONER

Thanx hmac300. Did just what what you said and the noise went away. Now all I gotta do is replace the belt and tensioner and were good as new :-)
