2002 Mitsubishi Galant car will shut off

I put a new starter on did not unhook battery it arced of manifold, will start now will idle sometimes & shuts off after very little idol time, if u mash the the gas pedal it will stall out, if u push it slowly it rebs up fine, when u try n drive it it will run but if u get on it it will shut off, & shuts off when u come to a stp and taking off if u push fuel pedal to fast it shuts off ran perfectly be4 I messed with starter

Check fuses under hood and scan for codes although you cold have damaged a module when you arced battery
