Knocking noise

How fix 2002 mitsubishi diamante knocking/tapping noise at idle, noise disappears when I accelerate.

It is a lifter in the head. Check your oil pressure to see if it has low oil pressure at idle, when you rev the engine pressure builds and your tap goes away. #1 oil pump, if oil pump is okay you may need lifters. I would drive it out until it gets worse if it is a lifter unless your performance is off. $500-100 fix on the lifters depending on 4cyl or 6cyl.
