2002 Monteiro sport when braking you have to apply a lot of force to stop.

Check the power brake booster for vacuum leaks. Check the vacuum hose to the booster for leaks. If there are none, using a vacuum pump, see if the booster will maintain vacuum pressure. If it drops, the booster is bad. See our homepage under the DIY section for booster replacement.
