Can you bypass the ac compressor with the serpentine belt without taking the ac compressor off?

I believe the compressor will be in the way in most cases. They make an adapter with a pulley that can take the place of the compressor. That way you can use the original belt routing diagram. Here is a link to a page that will show us the different configurations and the routing that is possible.

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken

Need to replace the belt & also the air compressor. Is there a shorter belt that will bypass having to replace the air compressor.

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation,

When you say the air compressor are you referring to the A/C compressor?

Shorter belts are available but the correct size information is not available. The parts people might be able to help on that.

A/C pump is making very loud noises on my wife's car. I am not a auto mechanic but I still do some work on our vehicles to save some money. I got the A/C until out right now. I want to bypass this A/C with a shorter belt. We really cannot afford an A/C unit. Can anyone help me out with some belt sizes but more importantly, a diagram or pattern of the belt bypassing the A/C? Thank you so very much for your time and help!

This is done at an auto parts store you have to hunt and peck style as we have no listing for that and you may need another pulley to make the belts work.
