transmition problem/high idle

when car is cold it runs fine,when car heats up its rpm goes up high when i drive with high idle the trans stop pulling and the engin races high but when the idel goes down the car goes into gear but yhe rpms goes back up when i drive off.
i want to thank you for your help,and iam sorry that i cant pay you anything but iam out of work.

If the check engine light has come on, have the computer scanned to identify trouble codes. Other than that, you may have worn clutch plates.
